Katherine Charek Briggs

Katherine Charek Briggs is the Assistant Director for Student Community Spaces.

Katherine graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in English, German, and Psychology and from the University of Texas at Austin with an MA in Women’s and Gender Studies and an MSIS in Information Studies. Katherine is invested in information access, prison abolition, and transformative justice and has 12+ years’ experience as a social justice educator.

Katherine is also an organizer for LGBT Books to Prisoners in Madison and is on the boards of Worker Justice Wisconsin and the Wisconsin LGBTQIAS2+ Health Equity Coalition. They like to make zines, go to the public library, take trapeze classes, and hang out with their 15 year old cat, Daisy.
