The MSC Lounge, Classroom, and South Mezzanine are open from 9am to 10pm Monday-Thursday and from 9am to 5pm on Fridays. The BCC Classroom is open from noon to 10pm Monday-Thursday and from noon to 5pm on Fridays.

- Maximum capacity is 70 seated. Soft furniture and tables around the center of the room cannot be removed.

Who can reserve space at the MSC?
Multicultural Student Center (MSC) reservable spaces are intended for non-instructional use by the MSC, dual-affiliated Registered Student Organizations, and UW departments/units that align with the mission of the MSC.
The MSC reservable spaces are not available for regular credit instruction. Reservable space can be requested in special circumstances such as guest speaker events and special one time activities if the purpose of the event aligns with the mission of the MSC.
How do I make a reservation?
- All reservations must be made through the group Skedda account, the MSC Room Reservation Request form, or by emailing mscreservations@studentaffairs.wisc.edu
- Only dual-affiliated RSOs may request group Skedda accounts
- Campus partners may submit requests by filling out the MSC Room Reservations Request form: https://forms.gle/is3N4fbtBHcA5xh49
- All reservation requests must be made at least 2 weeks in advance
- No reservations will be made over the phone or as a walk-in
- Walk-in reservations will only be allowed for Red Gym partners, if the space is available, to hold emergency meetings that require no setup or tech needs.
- After 5pm on weekdays, Red Gym access is restricted to UW Madison students, faculty, and staff. All patrons must hold a valid Wiscard to enter the building.
- The Red Gym is closed all day on Saturday and Sunday. If you wish to hold an event past our standard hours of operations (after 5pm on Friday and anytime of the day on Weekends), please refer to our After-Hours Event Procedure for further details.
When can I make a reservation?
MSC Spring Space Availability Dates: January 23, 2024 – May 2, 2024 *Not including spring recess 3/23/24 – 3/ 31/24
- Student Orgs can begin requesting reservations starting January 15, 2024
- Campus Partners can begin requesting reservations starting January 23, 2024
- 5-star MSC affiliated student org after-hours requests may begin February 1st, 2024
How do I reserve space for my MCC grant event?
The MCC Grant requires a location confirmed by the time of the org’s respective grant hearing. However, orgs cannot make a reservation on Skedda more than 30 days in advance. Orgs awarded the MCC Grant may create an MSC reservation (before the Skedda booking window) by emailing mscreservations@studentaffairs.wisc.edu with the information of their event and the MCC award notice. Emails should have a clear subject line and high priority marking to ensure the request is prioritized.
What are the space guidelines?
- For all reservations, MSC interns or staff will be present in the space at large.
- Failure to show up or utilize a reservation may result in a suspension of reservation privileges for that office/organization in the future.
- Leaving a mess or not cooperating with MSC staff/interns, may result in cancellation of upcoming reservations and suspension of reservation privileges for that office/organization in the future.
- Groups reserving MSC space will be financially responsible for any damages to MSC property during the reservation.
What are the MSC affiliated student org guidelines?
- 1-star & 3-star orgs can reserve up to 6 hours/month in MSC spaces
- 5-star orgs can reserve up to 10 hours/month in MSC Spaces
- All MSC affiliated student orgs are limited to 2 MSC Lounge reservations per month between 6-10pm, and 2 reservations in the Lounge per week for reservations before 6pm.
- Reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance
What are the campus partner guidelines?
- Campus partners are limited to three MSC Lounge reservations per semester, with one occurring between 5-10pm.
- Campus partners are limited to 12 hours per month across all MSC spaces
- Campus partners are limited to one BCC classroom reservation per semester.
- Reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance
What is the BCC Reservation Policy?
Black Cultural Center (BCC) reservable spaces are intended for non-instructional use by the MSC, BCC, UW departments/units, and registered student organizations that align with the mission of the BCC.
Campus partners are limited to one BCC classroom reservation per semester.
What is the cancellation policy?
If a space is no longer needed, you must let the MSC know at least 24 hours in advance. Repeated failure to do so may result in revoking of room privileges.
Can I hold a fundraiser event at the MSC?
MSC affiliated RSOs are allowed to reserve space for fundraiser events if they follow university policy and align with the mission of the MSC.
Student organizations must be dual-registered with the MSC to be considered.
Fundraiser events are allowed during standard MSC hours of operations.
What is the MSC Fundraiser Event Policy?
- MSC affiliated RSOs are allowed to reserve space for fundraiser events if they follow university policy and align with the mission of the MSC.
- Student organizations must be dual-registered with the MSC on WIN to be considered.
- To request space, fill out the fundraiser event request form
- All fundraiser events must occur within the MSC’s standard hours of operations.
- Fundraiser events must be for charity or for the RSOs operation
- No political fundraisers are permitted
- RSOs must get MSC flyer approval for event advertisement
- Event advertisements should include the event location/s and clearly state that the event is sponsored by the RSO, not the MSC.
- Please note: General Red Gym areas like the first floor entrance space are not part of the MSC. The MSC is not responsible for any Red Gym entry way tabling.
- Groups reserving MSC space will be financially responsible for any damages to MSC property during the reservation.

What are after-hours events?
- Events past our standard hours of operations are considered after-hours events.
- After-hours times:
- Fridays 5pm-9pm.
- Saturdays and Sundays 10am-9pm.
Who can make an after-hours reservation request?
After-Hours Event Requests are limited to 5 star MSC Dual-Affiliated Registered Student Organizations (RSOs).
What is the after-hours event request process?
After-hours events must be requested at least 3 weeks in advance. The MSC’s ability to host after-hours events is dependent on having sufficient staff to work. The MSC will confirm the ability to host your event at the latest one week prior to the event. Groups interested in requesting space for an after hours event must fill out the following form: After-Hours Request form

What are the MSC Affiliated Student Org After-Hours Requirements?
