Providing funding for Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) and non-RSO student groups for multicultural programs on the UW-Madison campus.
Funding decisions are made by the MSC Program and Grant Board, a board of student representatives who are elected/appointed annually.
How to apply
The grant application opens on Monday, August 25th, 2021 and remains open until April 2022, or until funds run out.

Types of Grants
Event grant
Funds can be used for: printing through University Services, space rental (on campus), equipment rental, lodging (at the state rate), food and beverage, honorarium.
- A University Contract and W9 form must be signed by payee and submitted to the MCC Grant Administrator within a month of the event
- International payees must provide proper documentation of appropriate Visa status at least four weeks before the event.
- Food: Must be approved by MCC Grant Administrator

*You will most likely need to apply to ASM first to cover your non-food needs such as honorarium, room rental, etc.

Registered Student Organizations must have an account on WIN.
Mission Alignment
All funding requests must align with the mission of the Multicultural Student Center, which is to collaboratively strengthen and sustain an inclusive campus where all students, particularly students of color and other historically underserved students, are engaged and can realize an authentic Wisconsin Experience. In addition, funding requests must meet two or more of the following four requirements:
- Educational in Scope: Social Justice Education, Cultural Education, Identity Exploration and/or incorporated into classroom education
- Fosters Leadership Development: Event Planning, Critical Thinking, and/or Problem Solving (for participants) And Professional Networking, Employment Seeking Skills, Exposure to career options, etc.
- Fosters Community Development: Relationship Building [within & across racial/ethnic communities], Heritage & Awareness Observations, Participation in Campus-wide events (Welcome Week, Homecoming, Parents Weekend, etc.)
The Multicultural Council Event Grant
Funded by the Chancellor’s Office and Multicultural Student Center (MSC), the Multicultural Council (MCC) Grant provides funding for Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) and non-RSO student groups for multicultural programs on the UW-Madison campus.
